'...this book is something that has never previously existed and exactly what a cap badge collecting book should be...'

Anodised Aluminium:  The ‘No Bull’ Cap Badge of the British Army is a new book currently taking the collecting world by storm giving rise to one comment that:

'...this book is something that has never previously existed and exactly what a cap badge collecting book should be...'

A forensic level of investigation of all the officially authorised and manufactured, regimental and corps, anodised aluminium cap badges of the British Army including those badges also administered by them such as Civilian Employees, Messengers, Royal Arms, Royal West African Frontier Force, Malay Regiment, West India Regiment etc.

Not only does the author investigate subjects such as all the known manufacturers of 'staybrite' cap badges but he identifies all the markings, sliders and loops used by them as attached to the badges themselves.

Too nerdy? Don't worry as there is more than enough information on areas such as the history of the introduction of the badges from November 1951 to contemporary times, when and why the design of the crown changed, the design and manufacturing process of anodised aluminium cap badges, problems in manufacture, chapters on Territorial Army, Army Cadet and Royal Marine pieces not to mention fakes and reproductions and a multiple of other areas including packaging and military documentation.

Still not your thing?  Check out the extensive appendices on all authorised items, many of which never got past pattern sealing, referencing documentation such as the War Office and Army Dress Committee meeting minutes, pattern cards, List of Changes, Catalogue of Clothing and Necessaries, Catalogue of Ordnance Stores and Ammunition and modern day official publications.

All information recorded in this book is new and not a rehash of the small amount that currently exists as an after thought in older publications. Collector or military historian alike; this book will open a whole new world of the most misunderstood aspect of military accoutrement's and collecting in general.
