New collector's book on the Vietnam War November. 2015
One of the most rewarding parts of our hobby is identifying and researching the sacred items that we hold so dear and marvel over. That is why OCAD Militaria Collectors Resources is so excited by a relatively new book on US military equipment of the Vietnam War. Which you may or may not already be familiar with.
Released last year, in time for the 40th anniversary of the end of the conflict, marked this year, what would be better at Christmas for all you US Militaria and Vietnam War collectors, than finding a copy of Grunt - A Pictorial Report on the US Infantry's Gear and Life During the Vietnam War 1965 – 1975 wedged into your festive stocking. I say wedged as this book is quite a handful and rightly so!

Written by a fellow collector, it features some fantastic pieces from the author's own collection, making it an ideal reference book. A4 in size and hardback it does not come cheap, but then again few good collector's book ever do. Its substantial size and bulk seems to justify its price, as its packed from cover to cover with 450 pages and over 3000 photos of uniforms, equipment, headgear and weapons, not to forget period imagery. The book quite literally covers a broad spectrum of the US military equipment used in 'Nam, but also goes into minor details, often overlooked, including patch ID, wash-kit inventory and even cigarettes.
If your loved one needs an extra hint this Christmas for present ideas or you just want to treat yourself, then you could not go far wrong by taking a closer look at Grunt. Follow this link for more details of the book.
